Enhim presents test results of fire-resistant fluid at nuclear Industry meeting

Employees of Enhim (a member of the NEC Group) participated in the annual meeting of turbine shop supervisors from branches of JSC Rosenergoatom Concern. The event, traditionally focused on improving the reliability, safety, and efficiency of turbine equipment at nuclear power plants, was held in Udomlya, Tver Oblast.

Participants discussed plans for equipment modernisation and maintenance, addressed import substitution initiatives, and shared operational experience with turbo-units across Russian nuclear power stations.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the pilot industrial operation of Enhim’s fire-resistant fluid in the lubrication system of Unit No. 2 at Leningrad NPP-2. In his presentation, the head of the turbine shop at Leningrad NPP-2 highlighted the high quality of the oil. He emphasized that critical parameters have remained within established norms since the fluid’s commissioning — including water content, acid number, and lacquer formation potential.

Eduard Gavrilov, Advisor to the General Director of LLC Enhim, noted that company specialists had actively participated in developing the oil system flushing programme and in the acceptance of the turbo-unit after its completion. Enhim’s engineers have been conducting monthly monitoring of the oil’s condition, tracking parameters that directly affect operational performance. “Over the past year, our fluid has maintained its as-delivered specifications — a result that confirms the high quality of Enhim’s product under real-world operating conditions at the Leningrad NPP-2 turbo-unit,” stressed Eduard Gavrilov.

Following the presentations and a Q&A session, participants were offered a tour of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant. Colleagues had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the machinery hall equipment of the power units and observe the work of the operating personnel.

Summing up the meeting, Eduard Gavrilov noted that the positive results of the pilot industrial operation confirm the high quality and strong potential of the fire-resistant fluid for wider use at nuclear power plants. Enhim plans to continue joint efforts with industry partners to implement domestically produced materials as replacements for imported analogues.
