Unitel Engineering launches the first-ever deployment of the TRUF TS digital control unit at the Magdagachi substation
Unitel Engineering
Unitel Engineering has successfully implemented, for the first time, a project using the second-architecture TRUF TS (Digital Control and Signaling Unit) at an operational facility — the 220 kV Magdagachi Substation in Amur Oblast. The project was commissioned by the Amur Magistral Electric Networks Enterprise (a branch of PJSC Rosseti).

The TRUF TS is a cabinet-type unit designed for signal switching and control in digital substations. It serves to receive, process, and distribute control commands and signaling data, enabling a significant reduction in traditional cabling and improving the efficiency of secondary system design.

This project marked the first real-world deployment of the TRUF TS solution and confirmed its technological readiness for use in highly automated substations.

Commissioning and setup works were completed in full compliance with the customer’s requirements and in coordination with specialists from relay protection, automation (RPA), and SCADA departments. During the project, the correct operation of the TRUF TS was verified in interaction with third-party equipment, and the unit was successfully integrated into the substation’s automated process control system (APCS). Upon project completion, the customer raised no objections or remarks.

The implementation of UPASK-class (Unified Digital Control Point) solutions by Unitel Engineering at digital substations contributes to enhanced reliability of power grid infrastructure, reduced operational costs, and the creation of a technological foundation for the future development of the regional energy sector.
